A Large copper acorn with an oxidised cup, cast from nature using a Norfolk acorn found during a foraging walk in Foxley woods in Norfolk, UK. This pendant is solid copper and has a lovely weight to it.

In Celtic and Nordic cultures, acorns symbolized immortality, fertility, and life. The acorn has been full of symbolism all throughout history.

I love mythology and folklore and the humble acorn has an interesting significance; Throughout mythology the acorn and oak tree were linked to the supreme gods. The oak was sacred to Zeus, Jupiter, Dagda, Perun and Thor. These particular gods had power over storms and it is an interesting fact that oak trees, being, usually a very tall tree when mature, are more prone to lightning strikes than many other trees. This may also be due to the fact they have a high water content.
